Ψ Building and maintaining front-end forms and procedures, and/or
Ψ Creating batch and report generated processes at your institution
… then this series of Envision regional training workshops is for you.

Envision Tool Kit Fundamentals

§ Navigate through the application hierarchy
§ Identify and create data files and data elements
§ Create and modify Envision forms using pre-defined standards
§ Understand program commands and rules of Envision Basic
§ Understand the structure for subroutine creation
§ Create subroutines called by computed columns
§ Create subroutines that produce output to a screen
§ Manipulate data in a record
§ Understand the steps to move tested processes from a Development
environment to the Test and Production environments
 
Envision Batch & Report
– 4 days @ $1800 per person; ACC Highland Business
Center May 19 - 22
§ Build batch and report processes
§ Produce a front-end screen
§ Create generated processes for reports and batches using Envision
Basic
§ Build new procedures with procedure development tools
 
Envision Forms Development
– 5 days @ 2250 per person; ACC Highland Business
Center June 23 - 27

§ Design new Envision form processes, using predefined standards and
prototyping techniques to help ensure a functional and efficient form
§ Define a series of fields in a group structure
§ Create a new valcode table and use it for data entry validation
§ Create and employ group (window) structures on a form
§ Create a code file, a maintenance form to update the code file
§ Use the code file for data entry validation, and to populate other
fields
§ Perform simple and complex file key lookups
§ Create new resolution forms and use/modify existing resolution forms
§ Use pointer data elements to read data from multiple files onto a
form
§ Create process flows that involve detailing from one form to another
form
§ Use global hooks to write program code to control the processing of
a form
§ Create and use static and shared error messages
§ Understand the recommended Envision development account structure
and the move utilities
§ Become familiar with the structure of generated source code
Who Should Attend
Technical staff members responsible for creating and maintaining Envision
processes, including conversion programmers, reporting specialists, and
software developers. These workshops are also recommended for IT directors
and managers.

TSTC Waco is sponsoring a Degree Audit Best Practices Regional Workshop July 8-9

During this workshop, your degree audit staff will learn how to createand use custom paragraphs and rules, how to grant and manage course substitutions, and how to assist students in reading and interpreting the evaluation report. Best practices for writing syntax, documenting specifications, managing curriculum/catalog changes, and using custom requirements will be addressed. This two day workshop is for new staff and current users of the system. This $700.00 per person workshop is being hosted Texas State Technical College Waco.
